The Pittsburgh Plan: Field Work

Field Work under the Plan consists of a (carefully planned) hodge-podge of, e.g.:

  • manipulative activities using scissors and paper, blocks, plastic letters and numbers, coins, and the like;
  • songs and chants;
  • identification of letters, numbers and words (e.g., on signs) while driving, shopping, walking, etc.;
  • flash cards;
  • and many more similar activities.

Field Work is integrated with the Homework Session worksheets, and is described in detail in the Plan’s “user manual,” Galileo Rising. (Click here to get Galileo Rising.)
